Environmental Resource Recovery Inc. dba Valley Services/Valley Recycling (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the personal information of our employees and job applicants. This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information in compliance with California law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

  • Security Cameras: Video surveillance at our facilities for safety and security.

  • Badge Access Data: Records of building access for security monitoring.

F. System & Network Activity Data

  • Work Email & Software Usage: Metadata, login timestamps, and email logs for IT security purposes.

  • Internet & System Logs: Websites visited, applications used, and login history on company devices.

  • Recording access logs from badge readers to monitor facility security.

  • Capturing video surveillance footage at our facilities for security and compliance.

  • Monitoring office phone calls for quality assurance and legal compliance.

  • IT & Network Security:

  • Preventing fraud, data breaches, and unauthorized access.

  • Monitoring email and internet activity on company devices to protect against cyber threats.

  • Legal & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Complying with state and federal employment laws.

  • ADP (HR & Payroll System) – for employee records and payroll.

  • Internal Secure File Storage – for HR-related documents.

  • Secure Facilities & Servers – for geolocation, security cameras, and badge access data.

  • We use access controls, encryption, and security policies to prevent unauthorized access.

5. Who We Share Your Information With

We do not sell or share your personal information for marketing purposes. However, we may share it when necessary with:

  • Payroll & Benefits Providers (e.g., ADP, insurance companies, retirement plan administrators).

  • Security & IT Service Providers (e.g., cloud storage, cybersecurity monitoring).

  • Regulatory & Legal Authorities (as required for legal compliance).

6. Your Privacy Rights (California Employees & Applicants)

Under California law, you have the right to:

  1. Request Access – Obtain a copy of the personal information we have about you.

  2. Request Correction – Correct any inaccurate or outdated information.

  3. Request Deletion – Ask for deletion of certain personal data, subject to legal and operational requirements.

  4. Limit Use of Sensitive Information – Restrict the processing of certain sensitive data, where applicable.

7. Data Retention

  • Job applicants: Personal information is retained for 4 years after the hiring process.

  • Employees: Personal information is retained for the duration of employment and as required by law for tax, compliance, and benefits administration.

  • Call recordings, security footage, and badge access logs are retained for 2 years, based on security and compliance needs, unless required for an ongoing investigation.

We may update this notice periodically. Employees will be notified via company email if changes occur.
