01Our commitment
Valley Services wants this website to be usable by the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. We aim to conform to the World Wide Web Consortium Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and we review the site against those guidelines as we make changes.
02What we have done
- Readable type: body text of 16px or larger, sentence-case headings and a single clear typeface throughout.
- Contrast: text and buttons meet or exceed the AA contrast ratio against their backgrounds.
- Touch and click targets: buttons and links are at least 44px tall on phones.
- Keyboard: every menu, pop-up, accordion and form can be reached and operated with Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter and Escape, and focus is visible.
- Screen readers: pages use proper headings, landmarks, labels and alt text, and videos carry descriptive titles.
- Motion: the site does not autoplay sound, and animation respects your operating system reduce-motion setting where we control it.
- Structure: one main action per section, plain language and consistent navigation on every page.
03Known limitations
Some older photos may have brief alt text, embedded third-party maps and videos follow their providers’ accessibility, and PDF documents we send on request may not all be fully tagged. We are working through these and will update this page as they are fixed.
04Compatibility
The site is built to work on current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, on desktop and mobile, and with common screen readers. Older browsers may not display every layout feature.
